MMA's Mission Statement

The Minnesota Mortgage Association is a member governed organization dedicated to integrity and professionalism in the mortgage industry through education, resources and advocacy.

PURPOSES

  • Promote the highest degree of professionalism for those individuals who act as mortgage originators, and to provide ethical and professional standards by which all mortgage originators can be measured.
  • Provide an opportunity for the exchange of experiences and opinions regarding mortgage originators and their profession.
  • Monitor and disseminate information on legislative and regulatory activity affecting the members and present the position of the Association where applicable.
  • Hold meetings for the improvement and education of the members, as well as encourage networking referrals among its members; and
  • Cooperate with other related professionals and industries in a common endeavor to promote the profession of mortgage originators and enhance the public perception thereof.

Association Information

MMA is working for you and your industry. We promote the interests of mortgage originators in this state and on a national level. We provide education, certification and government affairs representation for Minnesota's mortgage originator industry. And, along with the National Association of Mortgage Brokers (NAMB) and the other state associations, we are truly the voice of the mortgage industry.

When you join MMA, you're also joining NAMB. NAMB serves the industry in many ways by providing meaningful benefits and value-added services to all mortgage professional members.

MMA membership affords you all of the benefits that an individual members society can offer, along with other services specially tailored to the mortgage industry.

A Letter From The President

MMA Members,

The Executive Board met in October to set goals and prepare a plan for how the MMA will manage the year ahead.  I’m very pleased to say that the new Board is a very enthusiastic, positive group that is dedicated to you, our members, and to the mortgage industry that we all make a living in.

At that October meeting, I outlined for the group my goals for 2007-2008.  Next fall, when I look back on my term as President, I’m hoping to say that together we have accomplished the following:

  • Successful integration of the new MMA membership
  • Pursue individual licensing and continuing education
  • Add additional value to MMA membership
  • Double the size of the education faculty
  • Develop a consumer roundtable

To make that happen, we need your help.   We need your input, your participation, your expertise and your feedback.  Consider joining an MMA Committee that suits your interests.  There are many to choose from, including Membership, Education, Philanthropy, Activities, Convention, etc., so there really is something for everybody.  And, don’t worry if you’re not an expert on Philanthropy – MMA committees are a great place to learn the ‘ins and outs’ of the Association, and to grow as an MMA member.
